New Concerts Announced for the Mahaiwe

The Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center in Great Barrington has bolstered its summer concert calendar with three new additions. Tickets to the new shows will go on sale to members only at 12noon on Friday (March 14) and will go on sale to the general public at 12noon on Thursday, March 20.

Here are the newly announced concerts for the Mahaiwe’s summer season:

NATALIE MERCHANT AND HER BAND
Saturday, July 5, 8pm

BUDDY GUY

A 2012 Kennedy Center Honoree and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, blues guitar great Buddy Guy is the recipient of 30 awards and accolades, including six Grammy Awards, 28 Blues Music Awards and the Presidential National Medal of Arts, as well as being listed as one of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time by Rolling Stone.

JOSHUA REDMAN AND THE BAD PLUS
Friday, August 8, 8pm

One of the most acclaimed and charismatic jazz artists, Joshua Redman joins forces with one of the most dynamic piano-bass-drum trios, the Bad Plus, for an exquisite evening of exceptional music. Yes, they’re playing together…

In addition, the Mahaiwe announced that the multi-talented singer Bernadette Peters will perform at the Mahaiwe Gala on Saturday, October 12. Tickets are expected to go on sale this summer, and prices are TBA.
