1. THE FIRST ALBUM I EVER BOUGHT WAS … probably Endless Summer by the Beach Boys.

2. THE FIRST CONCERT THAT I EVER SAW WAS … the Marshall Tucker Band, circa 1978.

3. THE FIRST MUSICAL INSTRUMENT I EVER OWNED OR PLAYED WAS … a second-hand beat-up acoustic guitar.

4. THE FIRST SONG THAT I EVER PERFORMED IN PUBLIC WAS … playing drums on a song called “Pitom,” a Hebrew folk-rock tune.

5. THE FIRST BAND I WAS EVER IN WAS … first real band was Shir Chadash in 1984. (Actually Nippertown’s Greg Haymes reviewed our self-titled EP at the time in Metroland.)

Izzy Singer slips behind his drum kit to power Sub Slab at the American Legion Post #927 in Green Island at 8pm on Friday (March 21). Sound Economy will share the stage for the show, which is a fundraiser for the Northeast Kidney Foundation. Suggested donation is just $5.
