1. THE FIRST ALBUM I EVER BOUGHT WAS … the Beach Boys’ All Summer Long.

2. THE FIRST CONCERT THAT I EVER SAW WAS … Ray Charles and the Raelettes with the Ray Charles Orchestra (featuring Billy Preston).

3. THE FIRST MUSICAL INSTRUMENT I EVER OWNED OR PLAYED WAS … the upright piano in my parents’ house. I started taking lessons when I was six years old.

4. THE FIRST SONG THAT I EVER PERFORMED IN PUBLIC WAS … that would be “Don’t Say Nothin’ Bad About My Baby” when I was in junior high. Judy Glodgett played piano, and we were both all of 12 years old.

5. THE FIRST BAND I WAS EVER IN WAS … the acoustic version was called Box 29, the electric band was the legendary Alois Mayer Company, which transformed into Crossfire when we landed in Syracuse.
