THEATER: “The God Game” @ Capital Repertory Theatre, Albany. It’s opening night for the world premiere of Suzanne Bradbeer’s powerful, three-character play that tackles the topics of religion and politics head-on. The bold, thought-provoking play is directed by Kristin Coury and stars Yvonne Perry, Laurence Lau and Jeffrey Binder. 7:30pm. $20, $40 & $50. Through May 25.

THEATER: “Flashdance: The Musical” @ Proctors, Schenectady. It’s the 30th anniversary of the film, and now it’s a live-on-stage musical – the tale of Alex Owens, a Pittsburgh steel mill welder by day and a bar dancer by night with dreams of one day making it big. What a feeling! 7:30pm. $20, $35, $50, $60 & $70. Through Sunday.

MUSIC: Keith Pray’s Big Soul Ensemble @ the Van Dyck, Schenectady. The wailing, 17-piece ensemble serves up 21st century big band music. 8pm. FREE.

MUSIC: “The Choral Hour” @ UAlbany Performing Arts Center’s Main Theatre, Albany. The University-Community Chorale and University Chamber Singers perform. 7pm. $6; $3 students & seniors.
