MUSIC: Neko Case @ The Egg, Albany. Neko Case, known as much for her restless musical curiosity as her clarion voice, performs music from her recent Grammy-nominated recording The Worse Things Get, the Harder I Fight, the Harder I Fight, the More I Love You. The Dodos will open the concert. 7:30pm. $35.
THEATER: “The God Game” @ Capital Repertory Theatre, Albany. It’s the world premiere of Suzanne Bradbeer’s powerful, three-character play that tackles the topics of religion and politics head-on. The bold, thought-provoking play is directed by Kristin Coury and stars Yvonne Perry, Laurence Lau and Jeffrey Binder. 7:30pm. $20, $40 & $50. Through May 25.
THEATER: “Three Kinds of Wildness” @ Contemporary Artists Center at Woodside, Troy. Der Vorfuhreffekt Theatre offers a family and kid-friendly production about the deepest gold mine in the world, which is the underground home to an ice baron, a telegraph inventor and a doctor who’s dubious about the inherent value of the human heartbeat. 8pm. $5-$10 sliding scale.
THEATER: “Flashdance: The Musical” @ Proctors, Schenectady. It’s the 30th anniversary of the film, and now it’s live on stage – the tale of Alex Owens, a Pittsburgh steel mill welder by day and a bar dancer by night with dreams of one day making it big. 7:30pm. $20, $35, $50, $60 & $70.
