FREE: Alive at Five Concert Schedule Announced

The summer line-up of free concerts for the 2014 Alive at Five Concert Series has been officially announced. All concerts will take place at Albany’s Jennings Landing (formerly Riverfront Park) at the Corning Preserve from 5-8pm on Thursdays beginning on June 12 with Fitz & the Tantrums – one week later than originally indicated on the City of Albany Events website.

And despite the fact that the Alive at Five Concert Series is celebrating its 25th anniversary this summer – its first under the regime of new Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan – the schedule has been trimmed back from the usual nine summer concerts of the past several years to just eight this year. Noticeably absent on this year’s slate of shows is the usual Irish music night.

Rain location for the Alive at Five concerts is the the Corning Preserve Boatlaunch beneath the I787 overpass.

So, Fitz and nothing else then.

  2. Bill says

Pretty underwhelming. There’s still hope for Rock in’ on the River

Wow! A lineup of fresh and (mainly) contemporary bands – who will primarily be performing ORIGINAL music instead of covers…

Dustin Lynch is making his way up, Fitz & the Tantrums and Lord Huron are both playing numerous big name festivals this year, and we get to see them for free!

Isn’t it great that the people that are unhappy have the choice to stay home? It wouldn’t be Albany without the complaining…
