THEATER: “The Phantom of the Opera” @ Proctors, Schenectady. The Phantom is back! It’s Cameron Mackintosh’s new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s smash hit musical. 7:30pm. $25-$105. Through June 8.
MUSIC: Keneally-Lunn-Bendian @ the Bearsville Theater, Woodstock. Former Frank Zappa guitarslinger Mike Keneally teams up with drummer Gregg Bendian and bassist Doug Lunn. With the Paul Green Rock Academy Zappa Band. 8pm. $20.
MUSIC: Takao Run Band @ The Egg, Albany. The Takao Run Band performs a fusion of contemporary pop and traditional Taiwanese music in celebration of Taiwanese American Heritage Week. 7:30pm. FREE, but tickets are required ([email protected]).
THEATER: “The Other Place” @ Barrington Stage Co., Pittsfield. In Sharr White’s psychological roller-coaster of a play, Juliana Smithton (Marg Helgenberger) is a successful neurologist whose life seems to be coming unhinged. Her husband has filed for divorce, her daughter has eloped with a much older man and her own health is in jeopardy. But in this brilliantly crafted work, nothing is as it seems. 7:30pm.
MUSIC: Scott Feiner & Pandeiro Jazz @ the Falcon, Marlboro. You will be amazed at the music that former jazz guitarist Scott Feiner can coax from the tambourine-like Brazilian instrument known as the pandeiro.
