The Egg Announces Second New Concert of the Day…
The great jazz fusion drummer Billy Cobham is bringing his band to The Egg in Albany at 8pm on Saturday, August 30, as part of the American Roots & Branches performance series.
Fresh from his success with the Mahavishnu Orchestra, Cobham released his first solo album Spectrum in 1973. Featuring a unique blend of jazz, funk and rock, the album is widely regarded as one of the most influential and essential albums of the jazz fusion genre, alongside works by Miles Davis, Return to Forever and Weather Report.
Now Cobham is hitting the road with an all-star ensemble featuring Gary Husband (keyboards), Dean Brown (guitar) and Ric Fierabracci (bass) to breathe new life into this landmark recording.
Priced at $29.50, tickets are currently available to members of The Egg and will go on sale to the general public on Friday (June 20).
