MUSIC: Delta Rae @ Club Helsinki, Hudson. The soulful, North Carolina-based indie-pop sextet has drawn frequent comparisons to Fleetwood Mac, and Lindsey Buckingham gave his stamp of approval by adding his guitar prowess to their major label debut, Carry the Fire. The band has appeared at festivals including Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits and Voodoo, and will be a featured act at Lollapallooza in Chicago this August. With Gabe Dixon. 8pm. $35.
MUSIC/FUNDRAISER: The Summer Sunset Cruise @ SS Adirondac, Lake George. A benefit cruise for the Lake George Arts Project featuring tasty food from several area restaurants, a silent auction featuring seasonal items and dining certificates, a raffle, and music by Austin Barosi. 6:30pm boarding; 7pm cruise starts. $30.
MUSIC: Kuupuu @ Upstate Artists Guild, Albany. Kuupuu is a solo-project of Finnish artist-musician Jonna Karanka, who has been involved in such psychedelic-improv-neofolk groups as Hertta Lussu Ässä, Avarus, the Anaksimandros, Kukkiva Poliisi, Hockey Night, Olimpia Splendid, Way Of The Cross, etc. She plays partly improvised spooky boogie with tapes, loops, samples, beats, keyboards, effects and voices. With Tsembla (another artist from Finland) and the duo of Rambutan & Matt Weston. 8pm. $5.
THEATER: “Romeo & Juliet” @ Skidmore College’s Amphitheater, Saratoga Springs. The Lion’s Tooth Theatre Company’s debut production, directed by Joan Lawson. The Capulets fight the Montagues. The Montagues fight the Capulets. And in the midst of it all, a boy and a girl fall in love. 5:30pm pre-show carnival; 8pm show. Donations accepted. Through June 28.
MUSIC: Cover to Cover Band @ the Bearsville Theater, Woodstock. Will Bryant, Lee Falco, Connor Kennedy and Brandon Morrison are joined by special guests Amy Helm, Daniel Littleton, Elizabeth Mitchell and Andy & Tania Stack as they cover Neil Young’s American Stars ‘N Bars in its entirety. 8pm. $20 suggested donation.
MUSIC/READING: Juneteenth Celebration @ the Falcon, Marlboro. Speakers, dancers and musicians join in the celebration, honoring the late, great saxophone legend David “Fathead” Newman and author/poet Maya Angelou.
