Today is National Take Your Dog to Work Day…

MUSIC: Steve Martin & the Steep Canyon Rangers @ the Palace Theatre, Albany. Joined by special guest Edie Brickell, the bluegrass group is on the road in celebration of their recent Grammy Award for Best American Roots Song. The concert will showcase new material performed by Martin and Brickell, including selections from their album Love Has Come for You along with the unique hybrid of bluegrass and comedy that banjo-playing Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers have been delighting audiences with. 8pm. $39.50, $59.50 & $79.50.

MUSIC: Marty Wendell @ WAMC-FM’s The Linda, Albany. A member of the Rockabilly Hall of Fame, Local 518 singer-songwriter Marty Wendell is celebrating his 50th anniversary as a performing artist this year. He’ll be joined by his Tour Band as well as singers Jefferson Thomas and Kelly Bird. 8pm.

MUSIC: New West Guitar Group @ the Van Dyck, Schenectady. The fresh, cutting-edge, bi-coastal guitar ensemble performs classic covers, jazz standards and exciting originals, playing both acoustic and electric guitars. 8pm. $10.
