2. THE FIRST CONCERT THAT I EVER SAW WAS … The Allman Brothers Band

3. THE FIRST MUSICAL INSTRUMENT I EVER OWNED OR PLAYED WAS … First played was piano since we had one in the house. Later I picked up trombone and guitar.

4. THE FIRST SONG THAT I EVER PERFORMED IN PUBLIC WAS … “Hot Cross Buns” in the fifth grade band concert.

5. THE FIRST BAND I WAS EVER IN WAS … Outside of school, the first real band I played in was Velvet Jones & the Sex Appeal, a jazz/funk group that had a pretty decent following in Athens, GA (my college town).

Dave Nelson teams up with Marlon Patton for an experimental duo concert by Nelson Patton at the Spotty Dog in Hudson at 8pm on Saturday (August 9), utilizing the sounds of effected and looped trombones, as well as drums and Moog bass pedals. Directors (featuring Amir Ziv and Jordan McLean) also perform. Admission is $5.
