READING: John Lahr @ UAlbany Performing Arts Center’s Recital Hall, Albany. The former senior drama critic for The New Yorker and Tony Award-winning playwright (for “Elaine Stritch at Liberty”) reads from his new book, “Tennessee Williams: Mad Pilgrimage of the Flesh.” 8pm. FREE. Also a free seminar at 4:15pm at UAlbany Performing Arts Center’s Recital Hall.

MUSIC: Ronald Feldman @ Williams College’s Brooks-Rogers Recital Hall, Williamstown. The renowned cellist is accompanied by pianist Doris Stevenson for the program “From Beethoven to the Beatles.” 8pm. FREE.

THEATER: “Other Desert Cities” @ Capital Repertory Theatre, Albany. Pultizer Prize-winning playwright Jon Robin Baitz’s comedy/drama about prodigal daughter Brooke Wyeth, who returns to her Palm Springs Desert home to celebrate the holidays after six years away and announces plans to publish her childhood memoir – complete with revelations of deep family secrets.
