The fourth annual StoryHarvest Festival in Freedom Square in Troy kicked off the Sanctuary for Independent Media’s fall 2014 season of events late last month.

The community gathering featured plenty of food, a wide array of art activities and, of course, it just wouldn’t be a fest without some booty-shakin’ music.

Amsterdam’s salsa heroes Alex Torres & His Latin Orchestra fired up their original blend of Afro-Caribbean rhythms, followed by Nation Beat, who brought their 21st century mash-up of the thunderous grooves of northeastern Brazil fused with the strolling swagger of New Orleans funk.

And a grand time was had by all…
