Festival Fever: Festival of the Dead @ Washington Avenue Armory on Saturday

Festival of the Dead
Albany’s sixth annual Festival of the Dead takes over every inch of Albany’s Washington Avenue Armory on Saturday night (October 25). That’s right, the entire Armory, including the main floor arena, all four ballrooms, even the basement, will each be hauntingly decked out with different themes and different music to suit everyone’s entertainment needs.

Bands performing at the bash include the Last Conspirators, Funk Evolution, Second Heat, the Erotics, Shotgun Wedding, the Henchmen, UCL, Poor Dead Molly and British Steel. In addition, there will be a number of DJs, macabre artwork by Jeff Brower, fire dancers, tantalizing theatrics by the burlesque troupe Succulesque, magic tricks (and treats) by BG Status and a big costume contest with prizes awarded for Best Group, Most Creative, Scariest and Sexiest Costumes.

Festivities run from 7:30pm-3am. Advance tickets are $25 per person; $40 per couple. Tickets at the door will be $30 per person; $50 per couple. And a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Family Trauma Fund at Albany Medical Center.

NOTE: Costumes aren’t merely encouraged; they’re required! As they say, “No costume, no entry, no joke!”

ADDITIONAL UPCOMING FESTIVALS:

Bridge Jazz Fest @ Troy Savings Bank Music Hall & College of St. Rose’s Massry Center, Troy & Albany, 2/27&28/15
