2014 marks 50 years of music for Nippertown singer-songwriter Marty Wendell, and he’s made his mark in a wide variety of musical genres from folk to rockabilly, from country to gospel. And among the many memorable moments along the way, he’s toured with Johnny Cash and recorded at Memphis’ famed Sun Studios.

Wendell and his Tour Band have been celebrating his golden musical anniversary all year long with career retrospective shows at venues that range from The Linda in Albany to the Little Theater in Fort Edward to the Schaghticoke Fair.

And last month he wrapped up the year with something a bit different – a solo acoustic performance at the venerable Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs, filling the coffeehouse with songs and stories from throughout his half-century of music making from the beginning to now.
