MUSIC: NRBQ & the Whole Wheat Horns @ Bearsville Theater, Woodstock. The irrepressible keyboardist-vocalist Terry Adams leads the legendary band – featuring guitarist Scott Ligon, bassist Casey McDonough and drummer Bobby Lloyd Hicks (of the Skeletons!)- through their annual Holiday Hoedown, augmented by saxophonist Klem Klimek and trombonist Carl Q. 7pm. $25.

MUSIC: The Dylan Perillo Orchestra @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs. The colorful, 10-piece ensemble celebrates the beginnings of jazz, especially tunes from the 1920s-’40s by the likes of Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong, Coleman Hawkins and others. 7pm. $18.

MUSIC/FUNDRAISER: Simi Stone @ Colony Cafe, Woodstock. A benefit concert fro Gemma Calinda’s stem cell treatment for MS. With Tara, Savia & Ben. 8pm. $10 donation.

THEATER: “Elf: The Broadway Musical” @ Proctors, Schenectady. Last chance! The comic tale of Buddy, a young orphan child who mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts and is transported back to the North Pole. Based on the 2003 film “Elf,” the stage musical features songs by Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin (Tony nominees for “The Wedding Singer”). 1:30 & 6:30pm. $20, $25, $45, $55, $65 & $75.

MUSIC: Standard Issue Citizen @ the Low Beat, Albany. A Goth Christmas, Part Deux. With Destroy Eleven and Sirenne. 8pm.

FILM: “The Muppet Movie” @ the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center, Great Barrington. Kermit the Frog is persuaded by agent Dom DeLuise to pursue a career in Hollywood. Along the way, Kermit picks up Fozzie Bear, Miss Piggy, Gonzo and a motley crew of other Muppets with similar aspirations. Meanwhile, Kermit must elude the grasp of a frog-leg restaurant magnate. 4pm. $7.
