THEATER: “Jersey Boys” @ Proctors, Schenectady. It’s opening night of the jukebox musical about the rise to fame of ’60s popsters Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons. 7:30pm. $20-$100. Through Sunday, January 18.

MUSIC: Tim Olsen @ Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, Troy. In conjunction with the CD release of his new album, Creature of Habit on the Planet Arts label, the pianist-composer serves up a recital of jazz, Latin and classical music as the first Music @ Noon concert of the new year. 12noon. FREE.

FILM/DISCUSSION: “Out in Albany” @ the First Unitarian Universalist Society, Albany. A pre-broadcast screening of Julie Casper Roth’s documentary about the history and contemporary challenges facing LGBTQ members of the Local 518. Followed by a panel discussion. 7pm. NOTE: The film will have its broadcast premiere on WMHT-TV at 9pm on Thursday (January 15).

COMEDY: Low Down Comedy Open Mic @ the Low Beat, Albany. With co-hosts Jim Felter and Carlisle Carey and featured comic Lauren Turczak. 7:30pm sign-up; 8pm showtime.
