MUSIC/READING: Reading Music @ the Albany Public Library, Albany. The latest installment of the Reading Music series finds guitarist Roger Noyes debuting new music inspired by Ralph Ellison’s landmark novel, “Invisible Man,” with Terry Gordon, James Ketterer and Tony Berman. 7pm. FREE.

MUSIC: Natalie MacMaster & Donnell Leahy @ The Egg, Albany. Two of the most celebrated fiddlers perform “Visions from Cape Breton and Beyond,” melding their individual styles into a whirlwind of traditional and contemporary music featuring their band and ensemble of dancers. 7:30pm. $29.50.

MUSIC: Brett Scallions @ Putnam Den, Saratoga Springs. The frontman for Fuel (and a latter day incarnation of the Doors) goes solo and unplugged. With John Stack and Henry’s Rifle. 8pm. $20.

ARTIST TALK: “The Ties That Bind: Artists and Archives” @ UAlbany’s University Art Museum, Albany. A lecture by exhibiting artist Anna Craycroft. 7pm. FREE.

MUSIC: Wind in Sails @ Bogie’s, Albany. It’s the CD release party for Morning Light, the sophomore album from the solo project of Evan Pharmakis. With Ghost Thrower, Mike Comtoise, Rob Fleming, Rob Guerin, Jay Frost, Nick Lesson. 7pm.
