MUSIC: The Sing-Off Live Tour @ Proctors, Schenectady. Contemporary a cappella music rules the night with performances by three groups from the NBC-TV singing competition – VoicePlay (season 4), Street Corner Symphony (season 2) and the Exchange, runners-up from this past year. 8pm. $30, $35, $45, $60 & $125.

MUSIC: Celebration of Rhythm @ Proctors’ GE Theatre, Schenectady. Span the globe with the spiritual sounds of North Indian Music, featuring sitarist Veena Chandra and tabla player Devesh Chandra, and the Jamaican reggae sounds of Robanic with the Caribbean Sound. 7:30pm. $15 (general admission).

MUSIC: Silverstein @ the Upstate Concert Hall, Clifton Park. The band’s winter tour celebrates the 10th anniversary of Silverstein’s sophomore album, Discovering the Waterfront, which the band will perform in its entirety, as well as greatest hits and brand new songs. With My Iron Lung, Major League, Hands Like Houses and Beartooth. 6:30pm. $20.

MUSIC: Steve Riley & the Mamou Playboys @ the Falcon, Marlboro. Louisiana’s Cajun dance party favorites will have you kickin’ up your heels this Tardi Gras season. With Pirates Canoe, a six-piece Americana and roots music band from Kyoto, Japan. 7pm. Donation encouraged.

MUSIC: BeauSoleil with Michael Doucet @ the Iron Horse Music Hall, Northampton. For the past 39 years, the fab fiddler and his band have been making some of the most potent and popular Cajun music on the planet. 7pm. $25.

MUSIC/READING: Albany Sonic Arts Collective @ Upstate Artists Guild, Albany. An exciting experimental mash-up evening of three musicians (Jack Wright, Evan Lipson and Zach Darrup) with three poets (Michael Peters, James Belflower and Matthew Klane). 8pm. $5.

FILM/DISCUSSION: An Evening of Films @ the Albany Institute of History & Art, Albany. In a new platform for film and video artists in the greater Capital Region and Hudson Valley, the filmmakers will showcase and discuss their work. 6pm. FREE.
