New Show Announced for The Egg

Chances are that you know Gene Kelly from his classic movie musicals “Singin’ in the Rain” and “An American in Paris.” And, of course, who could forget “Xanadu”?

If you’re a fan, chances are you’ll want to check out “Gene Kelly: The Legacy – An Evening With Patricia Ward Kelly,” which will take place at The Egg’s Hart Theatre in Albany at 7:30pm on Saturday, September 19.

In this unique, live, one-woman show, Patricia Ward Kelly — Gene Kelly’s wife and biographer — takes the audience behind the scenes, as she presents an intimate portrait of the innovative dancer, director and choreographer. Using brilliant film clips, previously unreleased audio recordings, personal keepsakes and stories he shared with her over their decade together, Patricia Kelly takes fans on a journey into the life and heart of the man who changed the look of dance on film and became one of the world’s most beloved stars.

Tickets are now on sale, priced at $18, $28 & $38.

Gene loved the programming that was available to him on PBS, so GENE KELLY: THE LEGACY is teaming with WMHT to benefit Public Television. I will be appearing on the WMHT pledge breaks the evenings of March 2, 8, 9, 12 & 15 to talk about Gene and the show. For a contribution of $75, you will receive two prime tickets to GENE KELLY: THE LEGACY at The Egg in Albany on September 19, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. This is a great way to see the show and support the wonderful programming on WMHT.
