Ed Hamell Inducted into the Syracuse Area Music Hall of Fame… Again

It’s official – Ed Hamell is now a two-time member of the Syracuse Area Music Hall of Fame.
Back in 2007, Hamell – better known these days by his stage name, Hamell on Trial – was inducted into the Hall of Fame for his solo work. And last month, in conjunction with the annual SAMMY Awards, he was honored for a second time when his former band, the Works, were also inducted.
The hard-workin’ Works re-united to perform at the ceremony with guitarist-frontman Hamell joined by original members Mike Featherstone (bass), Dave Read (drums)and Joey Beccharia (guitar), along with latter-day recruit Andy Rudy (keyboards). Also inducted were other former members of the Works: Tom Canfield, Jay Harmon and George Rossi.
But don’t expect Hamell to mellow out just because of all the accolades…
Ferocious, one-man wrecking crew and joke-miester supreme Hamell on Trial comes roaring into the Low Beat in Albany at 8pm on Thursday, April 9, sharing the stage with Bloodshot Bill. Advance tickets are $10.
