FREE: Another Summer Concert Announced for the Empire State Plaza

Yesterday, we announced the first free concert of the summer at the Empire State Plaza in Albany.

And now, here’s another new addition to the upcoming Capital Concert Series:

According to his website, country singer Craig Wayne Boyd – the winner of Season 7 of NBC-TV’s singing competition, “The Voice” – is slated to take the outdoor stage at the Empire State Plaza for a free concert on Wednesday, June 17.

Stay tuned for further updates…

FREE: First Concert Announced for the Empire State Plaza

  1. Dan says

Albany gets a “singer” from The Voice and SPAC has dancing with the stars. Throw in some “tribute” bands and it doesn’t say much for the music scene.

  2. Greg says

Dan, OK, I hear ya. Craig Wayne Boyd and “Dancing With the Stars” might not be your cup o’ tea (or mine, for that matter). And I agree that the endless parade of “tribute” bands is disheartening at best. But to paint the entire Nippertown summer concert season with such a broad brush based on a few concert announcements seems rather myopic. There’s a LOT of great shows headed our way. Who would you like to see playing in town?

  3. Fred says

The best outdoor concert events this summer will be in Croton and Green River, not anywhere near Albany.

  4. Rudy says

Dan, what about the opener for Live @ 5?
The Schenectady Music Haven concert series has yet to be announced!!

  5. Richard Brody says

The lineups for both Solid Sound and Grey Fox look pretty good to me.
