Upstate Concert Hall Announces Two Big New Concerts

The Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park has announced two big new shows.

The electrifying New Orleans funk-rock-jazz-hip-hop band Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue are slated to come roaring back into Nippertown at 8pm on Wednesday, July 15. The last time Shorty brought the band to town, they nearly cracked open The Egg’s Hart Theatre with a wailin’, sold-out concert. And he’s been busy since then performing on the Grammy Award telecast with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, recording the theme song for the new CBS-TV comedy “The Odd Couple” and writing his first children’s book, the autobiographical “Trombone Shorty,” published by Abrams Books. Tickets for the concert are $25 in advance; $28 at the door.

And California indie rockers Cold War Kids are slated to take the stage on Friday, July 24 in support of their latest album, Hold My Home. They’ll be joined by opening acts In the Valley Below (the duo of Jeffrey Jacob and Angela Gail) and South African rockers Civil Twilight, who kick off the evening at 8pm. The first 102 tickets sold will be priced at $10.27. After that, tickets will be $20 in advance; $22 at the door.

Tickets for both shows go on sale at 10am on Friday (April 17).
