Win FREE Tickets to Noura Mint Seymali @ Sanctuary for Independent Media on Wednesday

Following recent knock-out shows by the Nile Project and Tal National, the Sanctuary for Independent Media in Troy continues to serve up the most exciting African music concerts in Greater Nippertown when Noura Mint Seymali steps into the spotlight on Wednesday (April 29).

She is a nationally beloved star and one of Mauritania’s foremost musical emissaries, who was born into a prominent line of Moorish griot and began her musical career at age 13 as a supporting vocalist with her step-mother, the legendary Dimi Mint Abba. She soon trained in instrumental technique by her grandmother, mastering the ardine, a 9-string harp.

Noura Mint Seymali and her band lick off their concert of high energy African desert blues at 7pm on Wednesday (April 29). Admission to the all-ages show is $15.

BUT WAIT… there’s more. We’re giving away a pair of FREE TICKETS for the concert to some lucky Nippertown reader! To enter the contest, just post a comment below. Please leave your email address, too. We won’t publish it, but we’ll use it to contact you if you win. Deadline to enter is 12noon on Wednesday (April 29). The winner will be selected at random and notified on Wednesday afternoon. Good luck! Congratulations to the winner, who has been notified by email.
