COMIN’ SOON: New Concert Announcements

Bearsville Theater in Woodstock is upping the ante with a new batch of concert announcements that includes Turkuaz at 9pm on Saturday, July 11 ($15); Langhorne Slim & the Law at 9pm on Monday, July 13 ($15 in advance; $18 at the door); Delicate Steve at 9pm on Saturday, July 18 ($15); Hiss Golden Messenger at 9pm on Saturday, July 25 ($15); Heartless Bastards with Alberta Cross at 8pm on Sunday, September 13 ($25); Mikal Cronin with Calvin Love, Ultimate Painting and the Cairo Gang at 8pm on Sunday, September 20 ($15).

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Three new concerts have been announced for The EggGinger Baker’s Jazz Confusion, Men at Work’s Colin Hay and a solo performance by Melissa Etheridge. Tickets go on Sale at 11am on Friday (May 22).

Following their show at the Van Dyck in March, the Levin Brothers – that would be bassmaster Tony Levin and keyboardist Pete Levin with drummer Jeff Siegel and saxman Erik Lawrence – are set to return to Nippertown, this time at WAMC-FM’s The Linda in Albany at 8pm on Friday, June 12. Tickets are $18. Also coming up at The Linda is Canadian singer-songwriter Bahamas at 8pm on Saturday, July 25 ($15) and Irish baritone Emmett O’Hanlon of Celtic Thunder at 8pm on Saturday, August 1 ($35; VIP $55 includes pre-show meet-and-greet).

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The schedule of concerts and festivals for the Empire State Plaza’s Summer at the Plaza series has been announced, including Orleans, Paul Barrere & Fred Tackett, the Vaccines, the Features, Craig Wayne Boyd, Maxi Priest, Morgan Heritage, Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes, Kim Waters, Alex Bugnon, Will Downing, Alex Matos, Cracker and lots more.

Frontman Ruban Nielson leads the Unknown Mortal Orchestra into the Hollow Bar + Kitchen in Albany at 8pm on Sunday, June 21, in support of the new album, Multi-Love, due out on May 26 on the Jagjaguwar label.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Music Haven Concert Series has announced its 2015 schedule of free concerts in Schenectady’s Central Park, including Steeleye Span, Red Baraat, 11-year-old jazz piano prodigy Joey Alexander, Novalima, Bassekou Kouyate & Ngoni Ba, “The Late Show With David Letterman” guitarist Felicia Collins and more.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The City of Albany is hosting a new music festival, Dad Fest, at Jennings Landing in the Corning Preserve. The free fest will feature performances by the Neanderthals, Eddie Angel’s Guitar Party, Super 400 and the WonderBeards.

Peter Rowan will be the musical guest when Garrison Keillor brings “Prairie Home Companion” live to the stage of the Koussevitzky Music Shed at Tanglewood in Lenox at 5:45pm on Saturday, June 27. Reserved shed seats are $43, $57 & $74; $24 lawn general admission.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Psychedelic Furs and the Church are teaming up for a co-headlining tour that’s slated to make a stop at the Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park. Tickets are on sale now.

At the Madison Theater, the Local 518’s own fab fretboard master Chuck D’Aloia steps into the spotlight for a concert at 8pm on Friday, June 19, with drummer Leo Kachidurian and bassist Ed Tourge, as well as special guests Keith Pray (sax) and Rob Lindquist (keyboards). Tickets are $12 in advance; $15 at the door.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Five Finger Death Punch and Papa Roach will be roaring into the Glens Falls Civic Center on a co-headlining tour with In This Moment and From Ashes to New in support. Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday (May 22).

Upon This Dawning roars into the Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park at 6:30pm on Monday, May 25. Also on the bill are Outline in Color, Silence the Messenger, Before the Betrayer, Cutting Ties and King Priah. Tickets are on sale now priced at $12 in advance; $15 at the door. Also British DJ-producer-instrumentalist Flux Pavilion takes the stage at 8pm on Saturday, June 27. Tickets go on sale at 12noon on Thursday (May 21). The first 500 tickets are $22; $27 thereafter.

The Parish Public House in Albany welcomes Americana/newgrass combo Cornmeal at 9pm on Thursday, June 11 ($12 in advance; $15 at the door) and the adventurous Will Bernard Trio at 9pm on Friday, June 12 ($10 in advance; $13 at the door).

UPDATES: Ticket prices have finally been announced for the Australian Pink Floyd / Led Zeppelin 2 concert at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs. Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday, May 29.

WEQX-FM presents a free concert with the Alternate Routes at Vapor in Saratoga Springs on Saturday, June 13 Doors open at 8pm, and the Lucky Jukebox Brigade will open the show.

OPENERS: Shark Muffin will open for the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion at the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock on Friday, May 29… Seattle chamber-popsters Hey Marseilles have been announced as the opening act for Milo Greene at the Hollow Bar + Kitchen in Albany on Friday, June 12… In support of her lush new album, Pleasure Boy, Hannah Cohen has snagged the opening slot for Paul Weller at the Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park on Sunday, June 14.
