LIVE: The Daniel Kelly Trio / the Seeing With Photography Collective @ the Sanctuary for Independent Media, 5/9/15

The dynamic Daniel Kelly Trio – featuring pianist-bandleader Daniel Kelly, drummer Rob Garcia and bassist Matt Pavolka – took the stage at the Sanctuary for Independent Media in Troy last month for a unique concert that fused together elements of both music and art.

The jazz trio performed and interacted with images by members of the Seeing With Photography Collective that were projected on the screen behind them. The collective – a group of photographers based in New York City who are blind, visually impaired or sighted – held a workshop earlier in the afternoon, and the event also served as the opening reception for their exhibition, “What Is Seeing?,” at the Sanctuary.
