MUSIC: Mormon Tabernacle Choir @ Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Saratoga Springs. The performance will include a variety of songs and spoken word pieces, including repertoire from the American Songbook, Broadway tunes, American folk hymns and spirituals, and music from around the world. 7:30pm.
THEATER: “Thoreau or, Return to Walden” @ the Unicorn Theatre, Stockbridge. In the world premiere, playwright-actor David Adkins takes the stage as New England Transcendentalist, poet and philosopher as he battles with himself, with his own thirst for blood and for the soul of our American conscience. 7pm. $50. THEATER ON FILM: “The Audience” @ the Spectrum 8 Theatres, Albany. For 60 years, Queen Elizabeth II has met with each of her twelve Prime Ministers in a private weekly meeting. This meeting is known as The Audience. No one knows what they discuss, not even their spouses. Followed by a new Q&A with actor Helen Mirren. 7pm. $15; $12 for ages 12 & under. FILM: “The Godfather: Part II” @ Proctors, Schenectady. The early life and career of Vito Corleone (Robert De Niro) in 1920s New York is portrayed while his son, Michael (Al Pacino), expands and tightens his grip on his crime syndicate stretching from Lake Tahoe to pre-revolution 1958 Cuba. 3 & 7pm. $5.
