EMPAC at RPI Announces its Fall Season of Concerts & Other Events
The folks at EMPAC at RPI in Troy have unveiled their schedule for the fall season, and as usual, it’s chockful of concerts, theater, dance, talks, films and other cutting edge (and sometimes indescribable events.
Here’s a round-up of EMPAC’s music/sound events/concerts for the fall semester:

Three beat scene trailblazers from around the global – Harlem, LA & London, to be more precise – keep the grooves knotty and flowin’.
Mark Fell
October 8 & 9, 8pm
Theater
$18; $13 students & seniors
The British artist returns to EMPAC to present Recursive Frame Analysis, his new work for light, sound and human movement.
France Jobin
October 15, 8pm
Concert Hall
$18; $13 students & seniors
Utilizing an array of dozens of specifically placed loudspeakers, the electronic music composer presents a new, site-specific work

November 12, 8pm
Studio 1 — Goodman

The Canadian electronic musician – who recorded portions of his critically acclaimed album Virgins during his 2012 residency at EMPAC – returns to forge a new performance of sound and light.
Mary Halvorson + Colin Marston
December 3, 7pm
Studio 2

Avant jazz guitarist Halvorson and death-metal bassist Marston each perform solo sets.
Holly Herndon
December 11, 8pm

The Tennessee native’s musical range and depth makes her a definitive figure in contemporary sound, forging ties between avant-garde composition, protest music and electronic dance pop.
