LIVE: Allison Miller’s Boom Tic Boom @ The Falcon, 8/12/15

Last week, drummer Allison Miller’s band Boom Tic Boom, played an utterly fascinating set of originals at the Falcon in Marlboro.

The group composed of virtuosos – Jenny Scheinman on violin, Carmen Staaf on piano and Todd Sickafoose on bass – entertained the audience with playful interplay of what could be called “chamber jazz.”

Most of the compositions were Miller’s, originating from an array of her life experiences, including skateboarding through a crowd and her new motherhood, as well as a thoroughly amusing composition about her dog dreaming of being a polar bear.

Boom Tic Boom will be releasing a new recording later this year.
