Proctors Announces Four New Shows

Proctors in Schenectady has added four new shows to its upcoming 2015-2016 performance season. Tickets are currently on sale to the general public.

Here are the details for the four new shows at Proctors:

AN INTIMATE CONVERSATION WITH LIDIA BASTIANICH
Friday, November 13, 8pm
Proctors’ Mainstage, $20-$39.50; $85 VIP tickets
The host of Public Television’s “Lidia’s Italy” finds the famous Emmy Award-winning restaurateur and celebrity chef discussing almost 50 years of cooking, eating and educating.

“CHIPANDGUS”
Friday, November 20, 7:30pm
Proctors’ GE Theatre, $20 & $30
John Ahlin and Christopher Patrick Mullen’s “ChipandGus” is a self-described “ping pong play.” Set in a sports bar in Schenectady, this unique theatrical vehicle is funny, fast, moving and profound. The performance is a benefit for the Schenectady Light Opera Company.

AN EVENING WITH GARRISON KEILLOR
Monday, January 25, 7:30pm
Proctors’ Mainstage, $20-$65
American author and humorist Garrison Keillor has become a national icon through his wry observations about Midwestern life, his writings about Lake Wobegon and, markedly, through his radio presence as the host of “A Prairie Home Companion” and “The Writer’s Almanac.” At Proctors, fans can expect a warm, funny and enlightening session of humorous conversation and hilarious anecdotes drawn from a life spent on the stage and on the page.

CHARLES YANG WITH THE EMPIRE STATE YOUTH ORCHESTRA
Saturday, January 30, 7pm
Proctors’ Mainstage, $20-$40
The Boston Globe proclaims, “Charles Yang plays classical violin with the charisma
of a rock star.” His edgy musicianship also embraces pop, rock and improvisational styles, and he has become an inspiration to young players the world over. At Proctors, Yang will join the Empire State Youth Orchestra and conductor Helen Cha-Pyo for an exciting concert that honors the past while looking to the future.
