Reviews and photographs by Tim Reidy
MY TOP 10 ALBANY CONCERTS
May 10: Albany Tulip Fest (Sunday) @ Washington Park. All bands. Singing in the rain was a lot of fun; good mix of bands.
August 12: Gedeon Luke & the People at the New York State Food Festival @ Empire State Plaza. Good day with Gedeon. It was lots of fun.
January 23: The Sea the Sea, the Lost Leaders @ The Linda. The Sea the Sea are great with a solid sound.
June 12: Megafauna @ the Low Beat. Shredding the Low Beat up.
April 23: Landlady @ the Low Beat. Intense fun from the Low Beat.
September 19: LarkFest @ Lark Street. The End Men and Stellar Young headlined a good line-up of music.
October 16: Joey Eppard & Friends @ the Madison Theater. It has been awhile. The group played hard to a sparse crowd.
February 5: Genevieve, Better by Morning @ the Hollow Bar + Kitchen. The new pop songs were great.
February 27: Consider the Source @ the Hollow Bar + Kitchen. Groovy times at The Hollow.
June 26: Chris Botti @ The Egg. Mom got me to see a classic show. Good entertaiment.

MY TOP 10 NON-ALBANY CONCERTS
October 11: The Parlor @ O+ Festival, Kingston. The Parlor closed out a fun festival and were even better than their CD release show at The Hollow.
June 28: Beacon Riverfest @ Seeger Riverfront Park, Beacon. Strong Sets by Breakfast in Fir and Shana Falana plus the Sierra Leone Refugee All Stars dancing at around closing time.
May 2: Black Taxi @ Irving Plaza, New York City. Black Taxi made all their stops with new and old material; plus Kat Wright and Turquaz kept it smooth.
June 6: Femi Kuti & the Positive Force @ Club Helsinki, Hudson. Best surprise of my year. I did not know that this would be that good.
August 21: Bear Grass @ the Tang Museum, Saratoga Springs. Solid sunset solid songs at Skidmore, Saratoga Springs. Say no more…
November 28: Black Mountain Symphony @ Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, Troy. Should have been at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall. Really good.
January 16: Sister Sparrow & the Dirty Birds @ Club Helsinki, Hudson. Soul group that got dad in the act and grooved anyway.
June 18: Bellstock @ East Jewett. Fun all around with Michela Davis getting in a well received set.
October 22: Ben Sollee and Mother Falcon @ the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, Troy. Mixing it up in good way; played all together, too.
July 24: Def Leppard, Styx @ Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Saratoga Springs. Can’t beat a solid Def Leppard performance. Styx also rocked.
