Mountain Jam Announces Headliners

The four-day Mountain Jam returns to Hunter Mountain in Hunter for its 12th turn as the Northeast’s leading rock festival with the first round of band announcements for the 2016 bash – Beck, Wilco, the Avett Brothers and Umphrey’s McGee, as well as perennial Mountain Jam co-headliners Gov’t Mule.

Running from Thursday-Sunday, June 2-5, this year’s festival also will feature a late night set by Thievery Corporation, as well as performances by Brandi Carlile, Jason Isbell, blues guitarslinger Gary Clark Jr., Mountain Jam faves Michael Franti & Spearhead (returning for their 11th annual appearance), the Chris Robinson Brotherhood, indie-rock sensation Courtney Barnett, Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, Lettuce (performing an evening and a late night set), Sister Sparrow & the Dirty Birds, the New Mastersounds (playing late night on the indoor stage), reggae legends Third World and many more.

The fest begins with a roar on Thursday, June 2 with Umphrey’s McGee headlining the opening night with two sets, along with upstate favorites Donna the Buffalo and others.

Also announced for Mountain Jam 2016 are Turkuaz, Son Little, the London Souls, Cabinet, the Ballroom Thieves with the Maine Youth Rock Orchestra, And the Kids, Love Cannon, the Marcus King Band, Con Brio, Jane Lee Hooker, Copious Jones, Madaila, the Suitcase Junket and the Paul Green Rock Academy.

Festival passes are now on sale (both three- and four-day) featuring either general admission or VIP camping or non-camping passes, with early bird discount pricing only available for a limited time. For 2016, three levels of VIP packages are available, including VIP, Super VIP and Ultimate VIP.
