Chris Gethard Brings the Laughs to MASS MoCA [Berkshire On Stage]

Chris Gethard is most at home in the underground, doing his slightly nerdy, slightly angry, devilishly cerebral stand-up, and hosting his eponymous gonzo cable access show. We know he’ll be right at home at MASS MoCA’s Club B-10 in North Adams on Saturday (January 30) at 8pm.

You might recognize him from appearances on “The Office,” “Parks and Recreation,” “Broad City” and “Louie,” but even if you don’t, it’s time you discovered his brand of wit.

Gethard got his start studying improvisational acting with the legendary Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, eventually teaching for the comedy collective. He is now best known for his eponymous “The Chris Gethard Show,” a spectacle of awkward viewer call-ins, animations, games, filmed performances and Gethard’s trademark self-deprecating humor. At times chaotic, the unpredictable variety show has established a cult following of fans affectionately referred to as “Gethheads.” The program has attracted a who’s-who of comedy superstars including Amy Poehler, Zach Galifianakis and Hannibal Buress. “The Chris Gethard Show” originally aired on New York City public-access and through a stream on Gethard’s website. However, after a meteoric rise in popularity, the show made its cable television debut on Fusion in May.
