Caffe Lena’s Inn Take Over on Thursday

night

Q: When is a gorgeous Victorian mansion like a folk festival?
A: When it’s Caffe Lena’s Inn Take Over!

On Thursday evening (March 10), the Union Gables Inn in Saratoga Springs will be transformed into a fab folk fest with 20 bands performing during the fun-filled three-hour event.

It’s a benefit for the Spa City’s historic Caffe Lena, and the Caffe’s effort to restore and preserve the legendary venue’s 47 Phila Street building. Amazing acoustic music will be echoing throughout the former Victorian mansion featuring such folk faves as Gathering Time, the Hot Club of Saratoga, Greg Klyma, Ramblin Jug Stompers, Olivia Quillio, Dubl Handi, Kevin McKrell, the Whippersnappers, the Bluebillies, MaryLeigh Roohan, Maria Zemantauski, Huxtable, Christensen & Hood, Mark Tolstrup’s Brass & Blues, Bob Warren & Joy Mackenzie, Phil Drum & Friends and Fennig’s All-Star String Band.

Inspired by music conferences from around the country, Caffè Lena will take over all three floors of the Victorian-era Union Gables mansion, converting elegantly appointed rooms into mini folk clubs. The 12 rooms will feature 20 intimate and up-close performances of folk, jazz, bluegrass and pop music.

Attendees are invited to wander throughout the mansion to sample songs, or linger in the lobby for spirits and snacks and place bids in the silent auction that includes items from Hattie’s Restaurant, Northshire Bookstore, Proctors and many others.

Caffe Lena’s Inn Take Over will take place from 6-9pm on Thursday (March 10). Tickets are $75 in advance; $77 at the door; discounts for Caffe Lena members and those under 35 years old.

This promises to be a truly unique event and a whole lotta fun, too. See ya there…
