Following a solid opening set by Greater Nippertown powerhouse Erin Harkes, the band walked onstage and began to dig into a bluesy groove. Shortly, a strong female voice began to boom out of the PA system. The audience’s eyes darted feverishly right to left and back again to see which side of the stage headliner Beth Hart would enter and join in the musical fray.

Then the house lights of The Egg’s Hart Theatre slowly went up and a spotlight started off at the bottom of the theater and ran up to very top of the steps at the back of the theater where a mini-skirted Hart stood and slowly descended the stairs on the theater’s aisle while she sang her opening number.

As one, the sold-out audience jumped to their feet, and many quickly drew out their cell phones to start recording the event. As Hart made her way down through the audience’s happy smiles, handshakes and heart-felt embraces, we all knew we were in for a treat.
