UPDATE: Tulip Fest Announces Complete Line-Up of Bands
The annual Albany Tulip Festival returns to Washington Park once again from 11am-6pm on Saturday & Sunday, May 7 & 8. As always, admission is FREE.
Expect more than 80,000 bloomin’ tulip bulbs, the coronation of the Tulip Queen, a Mother’s Day celebration, a good chance of some rain and, of course, lots of free outdoor music.
Here’s the complete schedule of bands for the 2016 Albany Tulip Festival:
SATURDAY, MAY 7
MAIN STAGE AT THE PARADE GROUNDS
1:30pm: THE PARLOR: Two years ago, they were churning out their fab folk-funk sound on the Tulip Fest’s Lakehouse Amphithteater stage. Now, the always enchanting Jen O’Connor and Eric Krans lead the Local 518 faves on the main stage in support of their latest album, Wahzu Wahzu.
3pm: TOKYO POLICE CLUB: Led by vocalist and bassist David Monks, the Canadian indie rock quartet rolls into town with a bushel full of hook-filled tunes, in support of their latest album, Forcefield.
4:30pm: LANGHORNE SLIM & THE LAW: Drawing influences from early Beck, T-Bone Burnett Americana and a bit of Hasil Adkins, Langhorne Slim (in his ever-present Stetson hat) and his band bring their rollickin’ joyful noise to close out Day One of the Tulip Fest.
