“I can never remember the first album I ever bought. I’m sure it was something that was on AM radio in 1974 or ‘75, but I really don’t know what it would have been.

“Like every kid, after that I got into Aerosmith and that kind of thing. And then in 1979 or ‘80, I got into the Ramones and the Clash. I liked all those records. Still do.”

Jon Wurster is one-half of the radio comedy team of Scharpling & Wurster and the drummer for such indie rock faves as Superchunk and the Mountain Goats. On Saturday night (April 30), he slips behind the drum kit to fuel the Bob Mould Band in concert at Pearl Street in Northampton. Ted Leo opens the show at 8pm with a solo set. Tickets are $22.50 in advance; $25 at the door.
