FEST: New York Rock N’ Roots Fest in Lake George

Last year, it was called the Electric Love Festival, and it was held in mid-August.

This year, it’s been renamed the New York Rock N’ Roots Fest, and it’s slated to kick off Lake George’s outdoor summer concert season on Friday & Saturday, May 20 & 21 at the Charles R. Wood Park.

The Friday night bash will be headlined by Rick Derringer, the veteran guitar-slingin’ rocker who recorded his first No. 1 hit single (1965’s “Hang on Sloopy”) with his band the McCoys when he was just 17 years old. Kicking off the Friday line-up at 6pm will be the Johnstown-based sister-and-brother band Jocelyn & Chris Arndt, followed by Peter Prince & Moon Boot Lover.

Sublime tribute band Badfish headlines the Saturday schedule, which gets underway at 4:20pm with performances by New Kingston, Roots Rhythm & Dub, Dr. Jah & the Love Prophets and Brian LaPoint & the Joints.

Advance tickets are currently available for $20 per day; $50 per day VIP including t-shirt, discounted beer, VIP viewing area and special bathroom access. Advance two-day, all-fest tickets are $35; $75 VIP.
