Alive at Five’s 2016 Concert Schedule Is Announced

The City of Albany’s Alive at Five concert series is relocating for the summer from Jennings Landing to Albany’s Tricentennial Park, and now it’s been revealed just who will be playing those eight free concerts on the 2016 Alive at Five concert series. The Alive at Five concerts take place at Albany’s Tricentennial Park at 5pm on Thursdays from June 9-August 4. There will be no concert on Thursday, July 7.

Here’s the complete 2016 Alive at Five concert schedule:

JUNE 9
DR. JOHN & THE NITE TRIPPERS
Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, six-time Grammy Award-winner and the reigning King of New Orleans Piano rumbles into town in support of his latest album, Ske-Dat-De-Dat: The Spirit of Satch. With Jocamo.

JUNE 16
THE JOY FORMIDABLE
Led by Rhiannon “Ritzy” Bryan on lead vocals and guitar, the Welsh alt-rockers roll into downtown Albany in support of their recently released third album, Hitch. With Good Fiction.

JUNE 23
TONY! TONI! TONE!
The ’80 & ’90s new jack swingsters are back led by original guitarist-vocalist Dwayne Wiggins with Timothy Christian Riley and Amar Khalil. With Tameka Amar.

JUNE 30
THE CHRONICLES
Greater Nippertown’s own horn-fueled jazz-funkateers pay tribute to Earth, Wind & Fire. With Thump Gospel paying tribute to Michael Jackson.

JULY 14
ENTER THE HAGGIS
The Canadian Celtic indie rockers celebrated their 20th anniversary last year with the double-disc compilation Cheers and Echoes. With Hair of the Dog.

JULY 21
BLOC PARTY
Led by frontman Kele Okereke, the British indie rockers take the stage in support of their recently released fifth album, Hymns. With Titanics.

JULY 28
LoCASH
The country music duo of singer-songwriters Chris Lucas and Preston Brust were in town just last week, playing a charity concert at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall with Trace Adkins. GO HERE to see them play Prince’s “Purple Rain”… With Skeeter Creek.

AUGUST 4
MOLLY HATCHET
The veteran southern rockers are led by guitarist Dave Hlubek, the only remaining original member. The band played Alive at Five in 1999. With Tumbleweed Highway.
