LIVE: Paul Asbell, Andy Cohen & Dakota Dave Hull @ Caffe Lena, 4/17/16

The Sunday evening show was billed as “Blues Brothers,” but if you were expecting Jake and Elwood to storm into Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs, well, you were plumb out of luck.
Instead, fans were treated to a round-robin performance by three brothers of the acoustic blues – Paul Asbell, Andy Cohen and Dakota Dave Hull.
Cohen certainly delivered the most humorous selections, while Asbell played the
most melodic tunes and intricate melodies. Hull, on the other hand, had the largest array of guitars with him, and he was more than happy to educate us about the differences between his 1930s six-string bass guitar, his resonator and his dreadnaught that cut through the air with the force of a battleship cruising at battle-ready speed.
Each one was unique in his own way, and together, they served up a beautiful evening of blues and more…
