Jon Anderson (the original lead vocalist of the legendary progressive rock pioneers Yes) teams up with Jean-Luc Ponty (the undisputed violin master of jazz fusion) to revisit their respective repertoires with innovative arrangements and virtuosic performances along with Jamie Glaser (guitar), Wally Minko (keyboards), Baron Browne (bass) and Rayford Griffin (drums). 7:30pm. $35 & $45.
MUSIC/FUNDRAISER: Aaron Dessner @ Friends @ Club Helsinki, Hudson. Aaron Dessner of indie-rock heroes The National hosts “Good Food for Hudson,” a benefit concert featuring Lisa Hannigan, Buke & Gase, Patrick Higgins and Dessner’s National bandmate Scott Devendorf, who will DJ a special set of tracks from the band’s Grateful Dead tribute album, Day of the Dead. 7pm.
MUSIC: Florist @ BSP Lounge, Kingston. Former Nippertonians Emily Sprague, Rick Spataro and Jonnie Baker (now based in Brooklyn) teamed up with drummer Felix Walworth and together they recorded the charming new album The Birds Outside Sang. With Immaculate Heart and flower housewife. 8pm. $8.

MUSIC: Primal Fear @ the Upstate Concert Hall, Clifton Park. Led by singer Ralf Scheepers and Mat Sinner, Primal Fear has been leading the headbanging charge since their 1998 debut album. With Luca Turilli’s Rhapsody and Shadow Strike. 8pm. $30.
THEATER: “Presto Change-O” @ Barrington Stage Company’s St. Germain Stage, Pittsfield. The new musical by Eric Price and Joel Waggoner tells the story of three generations of magicians who find themselves under one roof for the first time in years.
