Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock is hosting “The Last Waltz 40th Anniversary Celebration” featuring the Midnight Ramble Band and special guests Buddy Miller and Patty Griffin at 8pm on Friday, August 5. Tickets go on sale at 10am on Thursday (June 30), priced at $70 & $90. Also, Keller Williams is slated to make a tour stop at Levon Helm Studios at 8pm on Saturday, August 6. Tickets are $25 & $35.

POSTPONED: The Fear of Strangers reunion concert that was originally scheduled for the Hollow Bar + Kitchen in Albany on Thursday (June 30) has been postponed. New date (most likely in the fall) is TBA…

Legendary singer-songwriter and two-time Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Graham Nash brings his This Path Tonight Tour to Woodstock for an intimate concert at the Bearsville Theater at 8pm on Tuesday, October 4. Tickets are on sale now, priced at $69, $79 & $89.

Also newly announced for the Bearsville Theater are the Marc Black Band (with The Band’s Garth Hudson on keyboards) at 9pm on Saturday, July 2 ($20); the Eric Redd Movement at 9pm on Sunday, July 3 $10 in advance; $15 at the door); Tom Hamilton’s American Babies at 9pm on Friday, July 8 ($10); Rivergrass Revival with the Breakneck Boys and Music in the Kitchen at 9pm on Saturday, July 9 ($8).

Gearing up for the back-to-school fall season, the Low Beat in Albany welcomes the return of Cymbals Eat Guitars at 7:30pm on Friday, September 9. Advance tickets are now on sale for $10.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Veteran guitarslinger and brand new inductee into the Blues Hall of Fame Elvin Bishop will be stepping into the spotlight at The Egg in Albany. Tickets go on sale at 11am on Friday (July 1).

The multi-talented PigPen Theatre Co. is not just an adventurous theater ensemble; they’re also a pretty damn fine folk-rock band with several albums to their credit, and they’ll be returning to the Williamstown Theatre Festival at 7:30pm on Monday, July 11, for a concert. Tickets are on sale now, priced at $45 & $65: $110 for VIP with post-concert reception.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Following her blowtorch performance at Freihoger’s Saratoga Jazz Festival last weekend, bona fide Queen of the Blues Shemekia Copeland is headed into The Egg in Albany, opening for the Robert Cray Band.

They were down at Club Helsinki last weekend, but if you missed them (or just want to hear more), saxman/clarinetist Don Byron & Friends are headed into the Van Dyck in Schenectady with “Do the Boomerang: The Soul and Funk Music of Jr. Walker, Ray Charles, James Brown and More.” The shows are slated for 7 & 9pm on Friday, July 15, and tickets are $15 in advance; $18 at the door.

Second generation reggae great, Emmy Award winner and six-time Grammy Award winner Ziggy Marley plays the Calvin Theatre in Northampton at 8pm on Wednesday, September 21. Tickets go on sale on Friday (June 29), priced at $30.50 & $40.50.

CANCELLED: The concert by Malian desert blues group Songhoy Blues, which was originally scheduled to take place at Club Helsinki in Hudson on Friday, July 22, has been cancelled due to a medical emergency.

The Woodstock Music Lab in Kingston presents an evening with drum great Terry Bozzio (Frank Zappa, Jeff Beck, UK, Missing Persons) as he serves up a night of solo drumming and include compositions from throughout his career, as well as improvisation. The performance takes place at 8pm on Wednesday, September 28, and tickets are priced at $25 in advance; $30 at the door.

The New Hampshire acoustic trio Ameranouche brings their Gypsy flamenco swing sounds to the Stony Creek Inn in Stony Creek at 7pm on Sunday, July 17.

OPENERS: Irish singer-songwriter (and Ed Sheeran pal) Foy Vance has been added to the bill with Josh Groban and Sarah McLachlan at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center on Monday, July 25… The Stargazer Lillies will open for Best Coast at the Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park on Sunday, July 31… Bonnie Bishop has been tapped as the opener for the Rich Robinson Band at Club Helsinki in Hudson on Saturday, August 12.
