It was an evening of second-generation musicians at the Empire State Plaza in Albany, and the double-bill of the Devon Allman Band and Shooter Jennings was dubbed “Legendary Sons Night.”

While their fathers certainly qualify for the term “legendary” (Gregg Allman and Waylon Jennings, respectively), it did seem a bit premature for the over-used adjective to be passed on to the progeny…

Not that Jennings and Allman the Younger weren’t good. Indeed, they were. But legendary? The jury’s still out on that one…
