FREE FEST: Hispanic Heritage Celebration @ Empire State Plaza Convention Center
The annual Hispanic Heritage Celebration is slated to take place at the Empire State Plaza Convention Center in Albany, beginning at 5pm on Saturday (September 10).
Rich in tradition, the Hispanic community comes together to honor Hispanic Heritage Month with a colorful pageantry of live music, dance, food and family friendly activities. Admission is free.
Headlining the celebration is salsa singer Michael Stuart, whose debut disc Cuentos de la Vecindad earned him the Tu Musica Award for Best New Artist in 1997. Career highlights include a 2005 Latin Grammy nomination for Best Tropical-Contemporary Album and nominations for Billboard Music Awards in both 2006 and 2007.
Saturday’s festival will also feature performances by DJ BoyBoy, Luis Damon and Judy Torres.
