Veteran guitarist Les Dudek rode into Saratoga Springs earlier this month leading his power trio – also featuring drummer Greg Stewart and bassist Dan Walters – through their paces as they churned out southern-flavored blues-rock with plenty of passion at Putnam Den.

The 64-year-old Dudek – who has recorded with everyone from Steve Miller to Stevie Nicks over the course of his illustrious career – but he may be best known for guitar work on the Allman Brothers Band album, Brothers and Sisters, so it came as no surprise that he wrapped up his stellar set with the ABB classic, “Jessica.”

Kicking off the evening with a particularly solid blast of their own brand of blues-rock was the Local 518 all-star band Waterloo Clyde, featuring the tandem guitars of Jeremy Walz and Joe Lowry soaring over the unshakable foundation of bassist Steve Aldi and drummer Josh Bloomflield. Their opening set romped through the songbags of Cream, Derek & the Dominos, the Allman Brothers Band and even Van Morrison.
