Bands Announced for First Night Saratoga
As one of the oldest and largest First Night celebrations in the country, First Night Saratoga is an affordable, accessible, family-friendly, safe and exciting way to spend New Year’s Eve in Greater Nippertown.
On Saturday, December 31 more than 15,000 revelers will fill 30 venues throughout downtown Saratoga Springs, enjoying more than 70 bands and solo performers leading up to the traditional 12midnight fireworks display in Congress Park.
The triumvirate of headlining bands on the mainstage pays tribute to the A-list quality of Local 518 homegrown talent with the Figgs, Wild Adriatic and Sirsy, all performing at the Saratoga City Center’s Main Hall.
The WEXT stage at the City Center’s Downstairs Meeting Room shines a spotlight on the ever popular Ramblin Jug Stompers, who will play some toe-tapping vintage Americana favorites that have earned them a steady following throughout Greater Nippertown for the past 10 years. They’ll be joined by up-and-coming folk-roots group Living Roots Trio and the multi-instrumentalist dual husband-and-wife pop-rock sensation that is Darling Valley.
First Night Saratoga offers a wide variety of music, including 17-year-old Elvis impersonator Matthew Boyce & the Suspicious Minds, the blues ‘n’ soul of the Holly & Evan Band, country-rockers Grit N Whiskey, the surf-twang sound of Big Fez & the Surfmatics, Johnny Cash tribute artist Harold Ford, the Gypsy jazz of the Hot Club of Saratoga, the Dixieland jazz of the Nisky Dixie Cats, the Celtic music of Kevin McKrell and the soaring gospel of the Heavenly Echoes.
Also on tap is comedy (Mop & Bucket Company, Erin Harkes, Dwayne Murphy Jr.), magic (Patrick Davis), dance parties (Alex Torres & His Latin Orchestra, NitroJive) and much more.
Buttons cost $20 and will give you access to all First Night venues all night long, as well as free shuttle service between venues. One child age 12 & under will be admitted free with each paid adult. Buttons are currently on sale online for just $15 through Sunday, December 25.
