LIVE: Elvin Bishop @ The Egg, 9/18/16
Photographs by Andrzej Pilarczyk
Blues guitarslinger Elvin Bishop has been slingin’ the blues since the ’60s when he was an ace axman with the Paul Butterfield Blues Band. Last year, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and earlier this year, and earlier this year he was also inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in Memphis.
He’s 73 years old now, but he hasn’t slowed down. Last month at The Egg, Bishop and his band – Ed Earley (trombone, percussion), Bob Welsh (guitar), Ruth Davis (bass), S.E. Willis (keyboards, accordion) and Bobby Cochran (drums) – returned with an age-defying, barn-burning show.
