Jazz songstress Denise Donatelli performed two sets during her concert at A Place for Jazz in Schenectady last month. Her first set consisted primarily of songs from the Great American Songbook such as “I Wish I Were in Love Again” and “When Lights are Low.” Her second set featured songs from more contemporary artists, such as Donald Fagen’s “Big Noise, New York” and Joni Mitchell’s “Be Cool.”
Meanwhile, French pianist Christian Jacob leads his trio into the Unitarian Universalist Society of Schenectady’s Whisperdome at 7:30pm on Friday (November 4) to wrap up A Place for Jazz’s fall concert season. Tickets are $20; $10 students; free for children under age 12.
