RIP: David Schlang, 1945-2016
David Schlang died last week in Scottsdale, Arizona at the age of 71. You may not know his name or his connection to the Greater Nippertown music scene. But he was an important cog on the scene in the late ’70s and early ’80s as the owner of the music distribution company One Way Records and Just A Song record stores.
Here’s an excerpt from his obituary:
Schlang, David SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. David Schlang, born on May 2, 1945, in Albany, (son of the late Charles Schlang and late Shirley Cohen), died on November 1, 2016, at the age of 71. He left behind a legacy, including a lot of stuff that his wife and daughters have no idea what to do with. So, if you’re in the market for golf clubs, golf balls, general sporting equipment, random electronics, CD’s, cassettes, and LP’s, you should wait an appropriate amount of time, and then get in touch (really, please). But this is not an ad for a yard sale, this is an obituary for a great man, committed husband, and adoring father.
