COMIN’ SOON: New Concert Announcements
Canadian folk-rocker and three-time Juno Award winner Lee Harvey Osmond heads into Greater Nippertown on January 13 for a show at The Linda in Albany. Michael Eck opens the show at 8pm, and tickets are on sale now, priced at $15. Meanwhile, in support of her upcoming album Stitch of the World (due out in January), Tift Merritt returns to The Linda on Saturday, April 1. Ticket details TBA.
Swedish heavy metal band Sabaton roars into the Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park at 7pm on Sunday, April 23. Tickets are now on sale, priced at $25 in advance; $30 at the door.
Rustic Overtones and the Paranoid Social Club team up for the EQXmas Show at Jupiter Hall in Guilderland at 8pm on Thursday, December 22. Tickets are on sale now, priced at $10. Also at the Hall, the Brooklyn synth-pop duo Great Good Fine Okay makes their Greater Nippertown debut at 7pm on Saturday, January 7. Tickets are $10 in advance; $12 at the door.
Eleanor Friedberger (best known as one-half of the indie rock duo Fiery Furnaces) is headed into the Half Moon in Hudson on Friday, December 9 in support of her latest solo album, New View, released earlier this year. She’ll be joined by Darien Rectangle and Louis Munroe (of Nature Films). Tickets are $10.
The country music duo of Maddie & Tae headline 100.9 The CAT’s second annual Acoustic Christmas Concert at Vapor in Saratoga Springs on Thursday, December 1. Rounding out the bill will be Granger Smith, Trent Harmon and High Valley. Doors open at 7pm, and admission to the show is invitation only. Listen to the radio station and keep an eye on Vapor’s Facebook page for your opportunity to win tickets. Also coming up at Vapor, Tennessee indie quartet Colony House – featuring two sons of Christian popster Steven Curtis Chapman- plays alt-rock on Thursday, December 15. One Red Martian and Girl Blue open the free show. Doors open at 7pm.
Club Helsinki in Hudson welcomes Elise Testone – sixth place finisher on the eleventh season of “American Idol” – to the stage for a post-Winter Walk concert at 9pm on Saturday, December 3. Tickets are $12 in advance; $15 at the door. Also coming up at 9pm on December 31 is an all-star show featuring Simi Stone, Pearl Aday (Meat Loaf’s daughter), Scott Ian (of Anthrax) and Lisa Green (performing Genesis’ Supper’s Ready). Tickets for the New Year’s Eve concert are $25 & $35.
After taking a hiatus to battle cancer, veteran keyboardist Warren Bernhardt returns to the spotlight with the Marc Black Band at the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock at 8:30pm on Saturday, December 3. Tickets are $20.
